n3xus Program

The N3xUs (aka Nexus) program which is intended to help youth transition successfully from high school to post-secondary school. This ten week program focuses on helping students prepare for life in a college or university. Making connections and building a firm safety net for yourself is what N3xUs is all about!

Graduates of this program are more prepared to join a post-secondary institution with the tools, resources, and people who can help them achieve their dreams.

N3xUs is unique of its focus on post-secondary education and what it is like to be a student. It is particularly geared for students who are moving from rural or remote areas to larger towns and cities who may feel lost, unsupported, or extremely nervous about the change. This program includes the following:

  • a laptop kitted out with Microsoft Office.
  • Accommodation supports as needed
  • Successful completion gets students one semester of tuition and books paid for in a college or university where they have been accepted.

This program does not require approval by the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Post Secondary Education and Future Skills. As such PTIB did not review this program.

The Hire Ed N3xU5 program is intended to help youth (between the ages of 17 and 30) transition successfully from high school to adulthood with a focus on getting prepared to attend secondary schooling at a college or university. This ten week program focuses on Microsoft, helping prepare students for life in a college or university, information from recruiters about how to apply to get into a post secondary school, financial literacy, and more.

N3xU5 Hire Ed (CVTC Certificate)

By the end of the program the participant will be more prepared to take their place in a post-secondary institution such as a college or university.

Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person legally entitled to work in Canada, living in British Columbia. Must be a youth as defined between the ages of 17 and 30 and is geared to assist youth from remote or rural areas in BC who are going on to post-secondary education.

Classes are scheduled for a mandatory six hours per day, four days a week (Tuesday to Friday). Class time is scheduled from 9:00 – 3:30 daily, with additional lab time after class. It is highly recommended that all participants plan to spend a minimum of six hours a day at the Centre.

Dependent upon need, supports could include attendance support, living support, re-location assistance, wage subsidies, scholarships, completion rewards, travel or other supports needed to complete the program. As this is an employment program many of the supports are based on an individual’s need, once the participant is employed or furthering their education.
Participants will be evaluated through participation, attendance, and attitude throughout the program as well as securing employment, or further training, upon completion of the program.
